a wedding hall is a better investment than any other type of property.
he owns the building/land outright. it's cost him £10m.

say he puts on 3 weddings a week. 500 guests @ £30 a head. that's modest btw.
wedding venues are fully booked up all year round outside of a pandemic.
i know a couple who own a small wedding venue. They were lower end of the scale but they did the place up and now charge £20 a head. they are booked up every single day of the week.
weddings, charity do's, parties, concerts..


the most modest amount here is £15k a week of pure profit.
that's after factoring all costs and a modest '3 weddings a week' @ 500 guests. in reality it will do more than that.

£780k of profit per yr...again...that's being modest.

Amir Khan has a lot more money than most Robert Garcia fighters. I’m sure Khan’s social/familial circle is also drastically different. It’s an awesome investment, but he let it get out of hand by not keeping proper tabs from the looks of it.

He had a facebook post I had seen last night where he said a loooot. Basically he was told it’d be a couple mil (don’t remember the exact cost), but that it’s gotten out of hand and there’s no money trail. As in he has no idea where somethin like 11mil has been spent and his accountant has “no idea”what happened, the contractors have nothing to show for if, his architect supposedly wants more money despite already taking 300k (?) and has never been involved and now wants more money to keep working on it.

Sounds like he took great advice/made a great business move as he is the owner of the land and venue. Moves like this don’t just ensure that he essentially stays rich, but it gives his kids real lucrative businesses to inherit in addition to creating business opportunities directly related to it for friends/family. For example, in house food/catering, entertainment, gown/tux sales or rentals, etc.

There was either a gross underestimate on costs and/or he’s been scammed proper.

Khan is a bit of a dumbass it seems like but he's fought for and earned that money like a true warrior and never represented himself badly inside the ring, even if he lost. I hope things turn out well.
