Devin Haney: HARD to make 135 (Lopez fight unlikely unless both move up)

And Lopez's manager said they're most likely staying at 135. So, it's a Loma rematch, Ryan Garcia or Tank assuming he doesn't struggle to make weight.

Devin saying he would work to make 135, but if it's really hard for him to make it, that means he'd be drained and target practice for Lopez. Which is why I said I don't think Haney beats Lopez at the moment.

If you have a belt that says "World Champion" on it you should fight the best your division has to offer or move up. Period.

lol then WTF is Haney fighting old, crippled Gamboa as his first test?

I still don't see why people try to hype this kid up, he's done absolutely nothing.

"BUT for the big fights and obviously the big money I'll sacrifice and stay at 135"

Hasn't Lopez also been saying he's going to move up for a while now?

Haney has made it very clear he wants Teo next, and it has been Bob Arum who seems to have other plans.

Lopez's manager said that's not happening and Lopez easily makes 135; that Lopez was just talking (I posted that article a few days ago).

You can usually tell what kind of champion a new champion will be by his first title defense. Will Lopez fight one of the best lightweights or cherry pick an easier lightweight?
