  • Comments Thread For: Arum: I'll Explain Financial Implications Of Rematch To Lopez, Loma; Up To Them

If the dollars make sense and both boxers want it, Bob Arum would have no problem putting together a Teofimo Lopez-Vasiliy Lomachenko rematch. Lomachenko didn't request a rematch clause before agreeing to oppose Lopez in a lightweight title unification fight Saturday night in Las Vegas. Lopez expressed during a post-fight press conference that he doesn't see the need to fight the former three-division champion again because he defeated Lomachenko convincingly in their 12-round fight, which he won by unanimous decision at MGM Grand Conference Center.

"Defeated Lomachenko convincingly"...he didn't though, did he? Beating somebody convincingly is something like Mayweather vs. Canelo. López didn't win the first six rounds because he was convincingly beating Loma, he won the first six rounds because Loma did fúck all. Look what happened when Loma actually started fighting; he won five out of six rounds in the latter half. So of course López doesn't want a rematch, he knows the strategy would be different and he'd get spanked lol

The narrative that Lomachenko is somehow better cause he won some rounds at the end of the fight is comical

Very possible that would be the outcome OR Lomo starts sooner and a fresh Lopez knocks him out in a firefight. If the 12 th round is how the 1st round played out the outcome couldve been VERY different for either guy. I'd be interested in a rematch.

No need of rematch. Let Loma move to 130 and unify.

If Loma would of gotten the robbery, they wouldn’t give teo a rematch so... no rematch

yea Arum tried to sucker punch Lopez financially leading up to the first fight and will have to pay out of his ass for a rematch. karma.
