Team Wilder really didn't want it

Team Joshua didn't really want it

    Theres a subtle difference there

That's the concise and accurate version for anyone with half a brain

I personally still have the same view. Wilder believed he was good enough to keep winning and therefore build up his purse further. If he had beaten fury of course he would definitely have succeeded , in fact he did largely to get the offer from dazn he did.

The oddball for me is that dazn offer, because it was a high enough offer to stop waiting around and just take it. He didn’t get anywhere near that amount for fighting fury and still his biggest purse (but now much lower) would surely be against Joshua?

I think he just backed himself one too many fights.

For all the criticism of Joshua I don’t think he really has anything to prove as he has consistently taken on so many fighters it’s hard to argue he wouldn’t have taken on wilder given the chance. He was well within his right initially to offer an amount weighted more favourable to himself but even by he end with the dazn offer made to wilder this was no longer the case.

I always thought AJ wanted it and thought he could win. Team Wilder only wanted it for the money and saw it as a potential cash out if he lost.

The offers and back and forth seemed to largely support that but never really confirmed it 100%. That gave Wilder and his followers a pass for his part of the fight not happening.

In terms of what's happened since, that's just cemented it in my mind. Joshua knew he could lose and still fight on. The guy's got bollocks.

Wilder lost and disappeared. Let his rematch clause expire. There was never much confidence in the Wilder team and thus just proves it.
