Originally posted by Tbone27 View PostI read an article within the past couple of weeks saying that Wilder was still unable to train because of an injury. That definitely could've been fake or old. However, everything else I said is an 100% factual.
Arum has 50+ years of contract law experience and he's been saying that the rematch clause was void since October so I'm inclined to believe him. Also, PBC has multiple lawyers on their payroll and I guarantee Wilder has at least one lawyer on his team so there is no way in hell they'd go this long without filing a lawsuit if the contract was still enforceable.
The original contract called for a fight in July and it expired in October so it's legally impossible for them to move the date to December 19th unless they had written consent from Fury. Also, Fury has been saying for weeks that he won't wait until 2021 for the rematch, so I'm sure he made that clear to Arum and Warren before he agreed to reschedule the Wilder fight.
Both Fox and ESPN would lose money if Wilder vs Fury 3 doesn't do well so Fox has just as much incentive to avoid a conflict with conference championship games as Arum and ESPN. Also Fox and PBC have numerous spokespeople and attorneys so I'm sure they would've made it abundantly clear if Arum lied about their mutual desire to move the fight away from December 19th
There is no lawsuit because Arum and Fury have not broken the contract yet, im dumbfounded you'd even suggest that.
The fact that the WBC has not commented on the current state of the fight should tell you all you need to know.
There is a lot of things that you are saying that has never been stated by anyone. The contract wasn't over in October, Arum never said that. Arums stance is the contract is void if the fight is not happening on December 19th, which means the contract is still enforceable. He explicitly said that the contract allowed for some extensions. So again you are completely incorrect. Allowing for some extensions means that they do not need Fury's approval nor Wilders for that matter because they are beholden to the contract.
Either way, your inability to produce factual information has been exposed, because my original response to you was a post in which you said that Arum offered Wilder numerous dates for the fight and he turned down all of them, you have since presented a different argument, which is still incorrect.

Won't it just come down to whoever is the cheapest?
The only thing that the candidates could use as leverage is that Fury must fight a top 15-er. So hopefully whichever opponent is chosen, they can get some dollars for being the sacrificial lamb.
