Cool comeback story if he can do it, but this guy never reallllllllly got past the prospect stage so idk if he can hang with legit contenders still or if he has the drive to stick with boxing when things get tough. Odds are he'll quit again I'd imagine if this is real news.
Herring confirmed Frankie’s return to boxing. Don’t see any reason why he would lie about that especially since they known each other from the US Olympic team trials back in the day. Also, a couple of my boys have seen Frankie training around the tire shop he owns in East Los Angeles. As far as talent goes, Frankie holds wins against Adrian Granados and Mauricio Herrera when he was still a legit contender, so the talent is there just the discipline is what needs work.

More mature now! I was very high on Frankie Gomez as well as Jose Benavidez from their Amateurs days so I would love to see him comeback and live up to his Potential that would be a great story

Yup, Frankie had all the tools to become a top contender @ 140 or 147 lbs. Unfortunately, the hood lifestyle caught up to him. If Frankie does return it might be for the best for him to leave Freddie Roach and join RGBA. Jose Ramirez is Gomez former stablemate @ Wild Card Gym who now trains with Robert Garcia who has the best sparring in the game especially @ 147 w/t Vergil Ortiz, Josesito Lopez, Mikey Garcia, and Jose Ramirez
