Go thru Hopkins, RJJ, Calzaghe, ODLH resume and you will find that there list of great wins is really thin after 3.
Roy Jones dominant win over an undefeated elite James Toney is unmatched by any modern fighter.

Ray Leonard. Beat ATG’s in their primes.

There’s Pacquaio who beat a similar amount of top level and P4P guys and realistically that’s it.

Whitaker, Roy Jones etc probably have as good resumes all things considered but I’d put both Floyd and Pacquaio ahead of them myself.
Pac never beat someone of the caliber of Canelo.

Pacs wins were usually to a worse version of the same opponent as Mayweather like Mosley, ODLH, and Hatton.

          Pac
          Canelo
          De La Hoya
          Mosley
          Cotto
          JMM
          Hatton
          Corrales
          Castillo 2x
          Hernandez
          Gatti
          Judah
          Maidana 2x
          Berto

Even with all the ducking, Mayweather beat more great fighters than anyone I can remember.
Manny is close, of course Floyd beat Manny head to head and then never lost so he gets the nod all time. But yeah. Those big wins are unreal.

To be fair Canelo was in the top 10 p4p rankings at the time and 42-0 WBC champ at the time.

He wasn’t as great as he is now but he was still A level boxer at the time.

Barrera and Marquez are Canelo’s caliber or better.

Catchweight green canelo is a better win for Floyd?

                Ok

                Gift win against injured pac.
                Floyd has castillo problem
                Floyd has maidana problem

And the most important of them all

Floyd fought them all under his own terms or watch.

Beating a "green" is unimpressive to you yet you will overlook Pac losing to bums like Tim Bradley and Jeff Horn. Got ktfo by an old ass 39 year old JMM. I dont think you wanna go down the resume comparison route. 4 losses for Pac since 2012.

Top 10 pfp...come on man, that is all a matter of opinion. Some people probably slipped him in there in order to bill that fight with Floyd (two top 10 pfp fighters...number 1 pfp takes on top 10).

I don't think he was top 10 at that time, not even close really. The weight clause also, I mean it's a valid critique.

To me Canelo's greenness really showed in how he tried to fight Floyd. It was a dumb gameplan. If he was more seasoned he probably would have tried the Maidana approach a bit more, but Floyd would always be a tough matchup for him in a way.
