I hope you old-minded boxing fans aren't trying to demean someone to try to make floyd or pac look better. yall are stuck. going up in weight is less than "ability" and more about your build. You trying to tell me Floyd's ability ended at 154 or his frame did? Floyd moved up through weight classes very well, he had a very good frame to do so. Loma doesn't have that kind of frame. And Manny, well, some of it is questionable or he's just a freak. Not everybody can be a physical freak. Like i think Crawford is built very well for going up and it's no surprise he's in his 3rd weight class. I think he can go to 154 and push some guys at 160. I think Lopez could do similar; could have been at 140 a long time ago and certainly will grow into 147. The weight argument is biased bc you could never say Lopez should meet Loma at 126 if it's only about skill. Size, weight, strength, all that matters going up in weight and down in weight. Loma said it best, in regards to Rigo "this is not his NATURAL weight category."Even if he was too small, I guess it highlights that he certainly isn’t as great a fighter as the likes of Floyd and Manny who’s ability allowed them to go up plenty of divisions.
Not that I ever thought he was anywhere near their level, but some did.
This isn’t bashing him, he’s a very very good fighter but not one of the greats. He lost to a better fighter, not because of size.
People can accept Lopez won and still consider why. This intolerance towards discussion is comical. Now speaking of the "too small" statement. I don't like it as an excuse but there's truth in it still. Crolla was the smallest guy he fought and what a coincidence, he looked his very best against him. The Campbell and Linares fights were competitive until Loma took over the second half, but those fights showed size, length and strength are a problem - Lopez just did it better. The fact is, Loma's 135 run has not been easy, he's just damn good and found a way to pull away in what were, without a doubt, competitive fights.Last edited by SCEN3RY; 10-18-2020, 10:06 PM.Comment

Well to be fair he is too small in a sense. Other great fighters were able to over come size disadvantages at higher weights because of their skill or power or ring savvy. Lomachenko just isn't that great.Comment

Compared to Teofimo, he was small. Teofimo's dad admitted that Teofimo had difficulties making weight at 135 and was looking to move up to 140 immediately.
The fact that he's moving up to 140 and not sticking around for bigger money fights with Haney and Tank Davis tells you he couldn't make the weight anymore.
Anyways, we'll see how does at 140. I'm expecting Teofimo to flame out at 140.Comment
