I'm a big Loma fan & disappointed he lost the fight. I had it 116-112 for Lopez. Loma was so cautious in the first half & Lopez closed the 12th like a real champ. It was indeed a TAKEOVER! Can't wait for Lopez next fight!

I wouldn’t say he was necessarily scared although he definitely was wary of Lopez’ power and Lopez’ speed was causing him problems early. When he took risk and went after Lopez in the second half, he won rounds. I don’t think fighters like Loma get scared in the ring and I don’t think he was badly hurt by Lopez at any point during the fight. I think Loma and his dad are very arrogant and thought Loma could dominate and win the fight late and while Loma hurt Lopez, he was never close to stopping him. Lopez was literally winning the first half of the fight doing very little and I think Loma and his dad will have major regrets when they watch a replay of the fight. I’m not saying Loma could have beaten Lopez but it could have been much more competitive and exciting than it was and in this sense, Loma let himself and the fans down.

This was a disappointing fight to watch. Loma looked lackluster and even though Lopes clearly won the fight he seemed to be very tentative. Not a typical performance for either.

Had he engaged early, he would have been looking at the lights. He knows this. And I said that weeks ago. I said that if loma let’s this guy get in his head and go out there let toe to toe from the beginning, he’s going to sleep.

                I also noticed that.
Lomachenko intentionally head-butted Lopez Before the cut was caused too.
When I saw the first clash of heads and the way Lomachenko wrapped one arm around Lopez's neck and pull him in for a head butt I knew Lomachenko was frustrated. And the fight was pretty much over.

How many times have I heard a sore loser claim to have won a fight they clearly lost and their deluded fan boys run with it like its the holy grail.

Last time I heard this was with Shawn Porter.

So glad Derevyanchenko didn't make us go through this ish all over again with Charlo, smh.

Even if Loma had started earlier, it doesn't necessarily mean he would have succeeded. Lopez was fresh early and could have caught Loma if Loma had turned it up early. The other part of the double-edged sword is if Loma had exerted earlier, he could have been more tired later by the earlier exertion and been susceptible to tiring and getting caught more. Or, Loma starting early could have worn Lopez down a bit, but that's not a given. I still don't know where the idea came that Lopez didn't have a boxing IQ. He has his high accuracy and timing, doesn't flail his punches, doesn't lose focus, keeps his balance and composure.

Just finished rewatching . Lopez clearly won rounds 1,3,4,5,6,12 Loma clearly won 8,9,10,11 . 2 and 7 were toss ups i gave Loma the 2nd and Lopez the 7th so 115-113 Lopez. Would love to see a rematch i think Loma would do a lot better now that he got a chance to figure out Lopez at the same time tho Lopez is so much bigger and stronger that Lopez might just knock him the **** out if Loma gets to aggressive
