One more reason not to have your Dad as your head trainer. It was the end of the 5th rd and in the corner Loma's Dad was telling him to be careful and be patient, not to rush anything. There Loma was down 5 rds and going into the 6th and his Dad is telling him to stay patient and not rush anything. Too many times when a fighter's father is the trainer they do not want to take risks and always air on the side of caution. Either they don't have full confidence in their son, which makes sense psychologically for many reasons or they are too concerned for their son's welfare that they do not really want them to take any risks out of fear they might get hurt.Comment

Loma was psyched out before the fight even started that is partially why he was so hesitant to engage. Lopez is a good young fighter, but he is not that good. If Loma was as good as ESPN likes to claim he should of found a way to win and he did not. Eastern European fighters may have all the talent yet they lack that key trait like most Mexican fighters have. The trait of willing to suffer tremendous amounts of pain or go thru hell in order to win. Golovkin and Loma are examples of this. They will only go so far in order to win unlike Mexican fighters and the great African American fighters.Comment

Loma didn't start slow, he just fought like a coward. You could tell he was scared of Lopez's power, he tried waiting for the kid to slow down before he did anything.Comment

lol Loma and his dad are the dumbest boxing combo if they thought their strategy was to tire a young Lopez out. Lopez wasn't exactly throwing insane combos in the first half of the match, he was throwing jabs and a few body shots. No way a young fighter will tire out at such a slow pace. Loma fans are desperate to find a reason why their fighter put on such a poor performance.Comment
