When the Vasiliy Lomachenko versus Gervonta Davis unification match was first mentioned. Davis appeared to be interested in taking the match, but his promoter Floyd Mayweather wasn't. He was afraid his young fighter would be schooled, and possibly knocked out by the more experienced Lomachenko. So he talked his fighter out of it, and in so doing sabotaged what would've been a great fight about 3 years ago. Now he's interested again because Lomachenko is 3 years older, and struggling a bit to win lately. That's why Mayweather gets so much flack because he's always looking for an advantage to win for him, or his fighter.
