i think it’s a little more complicated than that. no law firm, particularly one as accomplished as canelo’s, is that incompetent lol
.Yeah for sure. I'm not gonna kid myself that I got the jump on a top legal team, it's just that little puzzles like this always intrigue me. Be interested to know what the full story is.
If DAZN had any money they would actually pay the purses they contacted for and not offering stock and other S*** instead of cash like they were with some of their fighters. They are cash strapped and fully expect for them to come to some kind of solution before they even go to court. Fact of the matter is that Alvarez is entitled to the money for the contract, DAZN is the one breaching here, it's better for everyone to cut their losses and move on, even if Canelo doesn't see any more money from DAZN, he's better off just being released so he could sign with someone else and actually start fighting instead of just sitting around and not making any money at all.
Yes it will, although I was actually mistaken with this post, cos both DAZN and Canelo are now seeking Federal jurisdiction, it's just Canelo's team are seeking to get not just the DAZN case but also the GBP claim tried in the district court and seeking to have it tried under the judge who was originally assigned.
It doesn’t necessarily have to go to federal court, just depends on how far the appeals process goes.
Without Canelo, DAZN is dead....

Well both Canelo and DAZN have filed to have it heard in US Federal District court rather than under CA state jurisdiction, so unless something radical happens or GBP pulls something out of a hat (one has to assume that GBP would prefer this tried under a state judge) Federal is where it's headed.
Right now the only question is which Judge hears it (Anderson or Olugin) and whether Canelo vs GBP and Canelo vs DAZN are heard seperately or as part of the same claim. Leastways that's how I'm understanding it.

Where does Canelo go? Please map that one out because I'm sure everyone would love to see that list of killers.
Keep in mind Charlo's last fight paid out $1.75 million and 60% of 75,000 PPVs or about what Canelo makes for a face off.
Who's next that's not with DAZN that can generate 20 to 30 million per fight?
Canelo has nowhere to go... PPV is dead in 2021-22, because of Covid... and, under the circumstances, I can't see DAZN paying him even $10 million per fight... huge paydays are quite over...
