Comments Thread For: Canelo's Legal Team Respond To DAZN's Request To Have Action Return To Federal Court

Saul Canelo' Alvarez and his legal team have responded to the action calling for their ongoing multimillion-dollar lawsuit to return to federal court. Attorneys for Alvarez and SA Holiday Inc. have filed an amended Notice of Related Civil Cases, coming two business days after DAZN Media Inc.-one of several companies named in the original complaint-filed a separate action for a Notice of Removal from Los Angeles Superior Court on October 8, thus generating a new case in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. The notice submitted by Alvarez's side calls for both cases to be assigned to and heard in the same court.

As a Canelo fan I'm not happy about all this, but Mikey and Ward fans had to endure it too, so it is what it is. pfff

This article explains nothing and sheds no light on the situation. It is simply a cut a paste job that could have been done by any middle school kid. This is not real reporting and not worth reading.

I guess the winner of this will be whoever was the least ****** at the contract negotiations.

I’m guessing DLH or Canelo but i don’t know who you blame if one person keeps a known coke fiend as their promoter

Canelo wants both his claim against DAZN and against GBP tried at state level in LA, DAZN wants his claim against them tried in Federal Court. DAZN is arguing Federal cos of the fact the multiple parties involved come from different jurisdictions / countries. Canelo's lawyers are arguing that it's daft to try two related and massively overlapping cases in different courts.

In a nutshell, Canelo will be in court battling DAZN for years while his boxing career nose dives. DAZN attorneys will file motion after motion for every move Canelo makes until he goes broke or taps out.
