Wilder had a legally binding rematch clause. If he'd insisted on enforcing it, the networks would have had to go along. Fury already waited 2 months longer than he needed to. Wilder and Haymon were hiding in the woodwork refusing to talk to him or his team. How long was he supposed to put his career on hold waiting for those fools to crawl out from under their rocks?

There was injury, COVID-19 restrictions and network restriction by the way.

The fight was supposed to be in July they agreed an extension to October then to December everytime just a few months more .. but no fight .. how may years should he wait ?

Fury's 2-0 with Wilder as far as I'm concerned so a trilogy doesn't interest me at all

There's no reason Deontay can't get a fight with the Fury/AJ winner though if he gets a win or two under his belt
