  • Comments Thread For: Teofimo Lopez: I'm Very Outspoken Because I Believe In My Abilities

Teofimo Lopez is going to keep talking until someone is able to make him eat his words. There are many in the industry undoubtedly expecting-if not hoping for-that moment to take place this weekend, as the unbeaten Brooklynite faces one of the sport's very best. Lopez enters the first defense of his lightweight title reign in a multi-belt unification clash with Ukraine's Vasiliy Lomachenko (14-1, 10KOs), live this Saturday on ESPN from The Bubble at MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Can't knock a man for being confident in himself. He really ain't bad IMO. Broner's arrogance is really more of the type of confidence that would understandably turn most people off. Most people that are just rubbed wrong by another person's confidence are mainly people that don't have that type of confidence in themselves & just end up resorting to hating. The young man is special and his confidence is right up there with his ability. Hope he carries that into the ring with him and shows what he is made of. He is going to need it.

I really hope that you're a member of Teofimos family or friends and you're just here to show support.

That being said you are not in the majority.

If Lopez was truly special he should let his talents in the ring do the talking and less of it outside the ring.

I dont get where you think hes not on Adrian Broners level when it comes to arrogance. He has it written all over him. If you haven't seen any of his interviews or promos feel free to take a look and disagree.

No kid, back to the future had it right. Your parents are idiots, it comes from an upbringing. If and when you lose and you are crying in defeat remember it was your father that brought you to this moment. Get out from under his control and learn to enjoy life. Being angry all the time is not good for the soul.

Nothing wrong with a talented kid with a megaphone mouth. Lopez is definitely no joke and let's face it, if every fighter sold a fight like Loma does then we'd be bored to tears. The fire and ice contrast works for me and if Lopez was a just a mouthy bum with C level skills then he'd deserve the tomatoes being thrown at him.

Feel bad for teo, he’s just a kid that’s acting out because his pops is a bad influence on him. Last episode of blood, sweat and tears he was crying. Hopefully he’ll grow into his own. He seems like he can be introspective, when the time comes for him to re-examine what fulfills him, I think he’ll finally accept that it’s not his duty to make anyone but himself “happy”. Separating your identity from your parents is part of growing up.

That will be easy for teo as he will disowned by his family if he loses

in brooklyn he will be that honduran mouthpiece and in honduras he will be, well I have no idea if they even know who he is down there

I don't mind his confidence, I expect young guys to be more assertive and outspoken, so long as they can back it up. He is a young champion chasing greatness. Unlike Tank who made endless excuses to duck Loma, Teo is taking the complete opposite approach. I respect his bravery and stepping up to the P4P best fighter in boxing today.
