Comments Thread For: Lomachenko's Weekend Dominance Will Leave a Historic Impression

By Lyle Fitzsimmons - I've come to a decision. Or, to be more accurate, I've confirmed a decision I'd already considered. Vasyl Lomachenko is the best boxer in the world. Bar none. And to those contrarian masses on social media who'd suggest such a notion is either beholden to a promoter or network or simply not as enlightened as theirs, I have an equally simple res...

He isn't saying anything we don't already know, Lomachenko should be favored for a reason. Casuals don't have eyes tests though.

And Canelo is a literal hype job. Saying it's splitting hairs is disrespectful towards Lomachenko.

And Fury is #1. As gifted as Lomachenko is, Fury is a level higher and being slick with more weight and real estate is far more impressive.

Let me get this straight, Loma is going to put on the performance of a lifetime such as never before based on what? Is he facing a lesser opponent than the ones he’s faced thus far? Quite the opposite is the case I think. Lopez brings a number of qualities loma hasn’t faced and will be able to derail his virtuoso performance. Lopez is more accurate, faster, stronger, younger, bigger than anyone his faced. Loma Is probably still going to win, but he will get hit and be forced to box on the back foot a lot more than he would like to, no doubt about it.
