Wilder vs Fury 3 Off. Good or bad? All opinions welcome

I'm Wilder's biggest fan but he needs to forget a Fury fight.
Fight some green guys with less experience.
Fight a few more cans & build your confidence back up.
And let some of the old legends talk to you & teach you.
He's in the twilight of his career.
Cash out, get out, and ride out.

Ivan Dychko... six-foot-nine undefeated Euro fighter with a long reach.

Okay, not the best skills, but his dimensions are similar to Fury and it would be a good stay busy fight.

Frank Warren basically said it was team Wilder who were obstructing it from taking place. It does make sense tbh. Not only from a boxing POV but if Wilder can knock out a decent name before a rematch in 12 months time, then his stock will rise again.

Only problem is it is a risk. We saw what happened when he turned down the AJ fight. Time will tell.

I’ve never thought Wilder wanted the third fight.

Initially the rematch had to take place by August, that was the clause deadline, but it got put back until the end of the year due to covid. I thought Wilder was going to fake an injury or surgery to get out of the August deadline and not take the rematch, but now he can use the Covid situation to probably get out of it.

It saves them coming out and saying I don’t want to take the fight and save face a little bit.

The problem for Wilder is this puts him out of the title picture for a while or for good. Is he really going to be motivated to fight lesser guys in non title fights for significantly less money again?

In a way it kind of makes no sense for him to avoid the fight at this age, because he might never get another big fight like this. Maybe he just doesn’t want to fight, but I imagine his team would be pushing for the last payday.

The fight not happening probably doesn’t change the landscape much in the division. Fury would win the third fight. The general feeling was AJ and Fury get their next fights out the way and then try to make that fight. So nothing really changes.

Third fight never made sense for Fury.

Third fight only makes sense for Wilder if it's a cash out fight, with the very slim possibility of a win that extends his career into one more big fight.

If Wilder genuinely has designs on coming back then he should take an easy can next, build into a decent fighter (a Whyte, Parker, Ruiz even as low as Chisora type). With a few knockouts he'll be ready and the hype will build again very quickly. Not sure if he has time for that kind of campaign.

Fury walking away gives us a chance of seeing the fight we want in 2021. Though I still doubt we'll see it.

Surprised to see this, but it's probably a good move. I didn't see a big reason for a third fight. Fury won the first fight and dominated the rematch. I'm not opposed to it but I'd rather see Fury fight the AJ-Pulev winner and unify.

The problem is he’s been doing this the majority of his career with picking guys .

Your basis is correct though , but he really needs guys to get him ready for Fury . Playing it safe is and was his problem, his opponents have not got him ready he needs a Joyce like character , maybe Martin who ppl really underate because of AJ but these guys are big units who can box .
