Comments Thread For: Liam Williams: Andrade Fight is Close, Has To Happen in 2021

WELSH star Liam Williams is on the verge of something big, but that means he can't look past Andrew Robinson when they meet inside the BT Sport Studios this weekend. Robinson is 36 and has a 24-4-1 (7) record. He presents an unusual style but Williams must win if he's to keep his world title aspirations alive, including his mandatory shot at WBO middleweight champion Demetrius Andrade.

Williams is one to watch...... He had a GGG style at 154, but had those two losses to Smith (I still think he was the better boxer over the two fights).

He's now got a second-wind and is destroying people again at 160........ Andrade will be a good fight.

And yes, if Andrade wins I will give him props.

Why doesn’t Andrade get shi:tted on for his resume the way Bud does? Bud easily has the better resume but Andrade gets a pass for some odd reason?

No, Andrade definitely gets criticized for his resume.

As bad as Bud though? Nah.

He calls out the top guys in or around his division & then fights guys no one has ever heard of. Then it gets written off as “ nobody wants to fight him “ Buds situation is almost identical yet he gets hit with “he needs to step up” “No one has to fight him” “he shouldn’t have signed with top rank’’

I’m just saying it’s a weird double standard. I’m a fan of them both that’s why it bothers me

Andrade isn't very popular. Bot as many people care.

You’re right. That’s probably the strongest argument that can be made

Surely the difference is their respective commercial power? Crawford is one of the biggest stars in boxing. He should be able to make the big fights happen. It annoys the hell out of me that Terence isn't getting the massive fights made with Spence, or even Pac or Garcia. If you're one of the big names you should make it happen!
By contrast, I can understand that Demetrius will splash around in the water & get nothing. BJS, Charlo, they want, or hope for, Canelo. They aren't exactly crying out for a fight that is, essentially, high-risk, low-rent

Or the fact that Crawford is considered by most a top 3 P4P fighter and Andrade isn't.
