I don't think Navarrete plateaued. It seemed like he thought he had the fight in the bag so he just coasted through the 2nd half. He's lucky he put some pressure on Villa in the 12th because it probably would've been a draw if he didn't win that rd

Boxing just can’t keep from ruining itself

Atleast the right guy won but that was horrible judging

          But that’s boxing
Honestly gave Villa 1 or 2 rounds, he was very inactive in the fight and his legs got more of workout than his hands an arms did!

Navaratte was using almost every feint in the book which caught me off guard, he can also switch from orthodox to southpaw, use angles, change levels, and change his rhythm up!

He’s a problem at featherweight , I would favor him over Warrington!

Yup like Bradley mentioned he has a very good fight IQ even though he’s awkward he’s thinking in there that coupled with his size, power, chin and cardio he will be very tough to beat.

Villa showed in glimpses why I thought he could win but those early knockdowns had him hesitant in letting his hands go
Yeah, I thought Villa would give Navarrete problems and might even score the upset. He got hit with some hard shots early which hurt him and changed the complexion of the fight. Navarrete will be a tough customer for alot of the fighters in the division.

That being said, and I know I'm in the minority, but I thought he won about 5 rounds and would have scored it 115-111 or 116-110. I thought the ESPN analysts were a little too heavy in their praise of Navarrete while not acknowledging the clean shots Villa was landing.

Really good to see Navarrete in an interesting fight again. I think at the new weight they can get him in there with better quality contenders.

I'm not so sure, 50/50. Villa is high school compared to Josh, but can they get Josh into Vegas?

How did those judges find so many rounds for villa?! There went boxing going to do it’s thing again. If not for the two knockdowns, it would have been a majority draw or villa win! Villa looked more like a punching bag than anything else! Good thing Navarrete took it out of the hands of those crooks.
