I'd sooner call Hopkins a quitting coward when he faked an injury against Dawson to get the fight called and ruled a no contest. You will have to dismiss anything Rigo accomplished in his lifetime since he quit against Loma. Oscar quit against Manny, didn't make him any less a fighter or hurt his legacy.

During is an all-time great. Ranked higher than anyone who has fought in the last three decades.

Ain't no greater crime against the sport of boxing than QUITTING in that ring
He is forgiven because he's Roberto Duran and people love him. He more than made up for it with his win against Davey Moore and beating Iran Barkley who was a giant compared to Duran. Duran was getting hammered by Barkley but he hung in there adjusted and ended up winning the fight. Quite frankly that was one of the most astonishing fights that I have ever seen. Then there was his sterling performance against Hagler. He's a bigger than life character with tons of charisma.

Duran was great. But his performance against Hearns was awful. I tried kid myself it was a lucky punch, but I watched fight recently and Duran was a ko waiting to happen, I was worried throughout fight, duran wasn't at the races that night. But that weren't Duran that night.
Pac s greater. Pac s dominated opponents more often

Because Sugar Ray Leonard ran away from Duran in the rematch.
