Comments Thread For: Joe Smith: Bivol is By Far Best I've Fought - He's The Best at 175!

Bivol has spoken a lot about going down to 168. Never heard him calling out King Artur. I think I know why.Comment

I think Bivol is a very good fighter but I don't like his chances against Beterbiev. He talks about 168 because that's probably a more natural weight for him to be fighting at, he's definitely on the small side at light heavyweight. He's a skilled and athletic boxer but I'm not sure he has the style or power that poses a real threat to Artur. I see that fight going similar to Gvozdyk. He would win rounds but slowly get broken down.
A fighter has to be skilled and durable enough to last 12 rounds or he has to have enough chin and enough one punch firepower to last long enough to land a bomb on Artur.
Beterbiev was definitely buzzed by Callum Johnson but the UK fighter couldn't withstand Artur's assault. I don't think Smith would win either but he's tough as nails, has a good chin (even when his jaw is broken) and he throws dynamite. He would be a very live underdog.Comment

Crazy how Smith was counted out by many after he lost to Bivol who’s solid and has built up a decent resume even though he hasn’t fought the absolute best!
I think Smith should chase a rematch as he’s improved a lot since they last fought and the outcome could be different this time!Comment

I actually think they’re similar but Smith has had more opportunities good level.
Not similar in style per se but heavy-handed and a handful for anybody on their night but not quite good enough to beat the top guys.
Smith would be the favourite because he’s fought more consistently at a higher level, but I think Johnson is underrated and not to be taken lightly going into a fight with him.Comment

Bivol said he wants to fight Beterbiev, he said it in an interview with Eddie Hearn very recently again. He said he wants to fight all the champions at 175.
He said he is willing to go to 168 to fight Canelo, But other than that his career is at 175.
Beterbiev and Bivol were both on DAZN at the same time but then Beterbiev left just as the unifications were being talked about.
If Anything, Bivol has been the most vocal about wanting to fight fellow champions.Comment
