your comment is completely irrelevant to my point. My point was, previously you needed to have actually accomplished something in your sport to be marketable. These days, you just need to be a social media whore that gets the attention of simple minded "fans". So my critique is more about what it takes to make a star today than what it was in the past. U understand not wanting to ignore the struggle just because its not affecting you, but Joshua had a lot of white fans, in fact most of his fans were white from what I could tell.

The 20 year old I work with don’t know jack about boxing but follows him on IG. Wouldn’t be shocked if the kid is currently making more money of his social media presence then he is actually fighting.

In the age of tic toc, YouTube, ig, Snapchat etc kids like him are gonna thrive. He starts dating a major pop figure or actress and that kids gonna really take off. I have no feelings about it either way. The good thing is kids like him can hopefully draw more eyes to boxing
