I think most of us knew this was going to be a helluva fight. There just wasn't a way it was going to be anything less. Baranchyk is a Beast and always comes forward to bring the pain.

Zepeda is a skilled boxer who seems to doubt himself but when forced, he shows his mettle and is a true warrior. On top of that, Zepeda can throw some missiles.

Bradley offered some heartfelt words...he knows from the Provodnikov fight exactly what the sweet science can give and what it can take from you. It's ironic, I thought their commentary was subpar in the Ibeh/Vianello fight and they were at their best in this fight.

Finally, Zepeda showed some real honesty and humility in the post-fight interview. You could see the emotion as he self assessed his shortcomings in confidence. I always liked Zepeda but he made me into a big fan tonight.

Also want to pay my respect to Baranchyk and his efforts. As Bradley said, he left a part of himself that ring tonight (and I imagine Zepeda did as well). Dude is a beast and a warrior. He always brings it.

God speed on his recover and hope to see him back in the ring.

He decided to stand and trade this time, this was the outcome.

He was apparently beating up Mayweather in sparring for the Manny Pacquiao fight. Multiple highly credible sources have said this.

                  Epic fight !

In the first round I was thinking , "Oh no, Zepeda, what the hell are you doing? Just stick and move for a while." It wasn't looking too promising for him at one point.

Then every time Zepeda dropped Baranchyk , the beast jumps right back up, immediately! I'm thinking the beast is too emotional and wreckless...Take you time getting up. Both guys seemed to be getting hit with huge punches that weren't set up. It felt like they both knew that it was kill or be killed and that nobody was going to be running out the clock to a decision. I think Zepeda knew that he had to get rid of the beast because he was taking a lot of hard punches and eventually he wouldn't be able to withstand it. I also think that Baranchyk was softened up by the previous hard knockdowns. His strategy was to steamroll Zepeda. I was thinking that Zepeda might fade down the stretch but he pulled that huge KO outta his hat. Great fight !!

Baranchyk will never be the same for sure. That KO was BRUTAL ! I think Zepeda took quite a bit of damage there too. Hope they're both ok.

Both guys took damage but they should both come back fine physically. Their confidence might be down but the fight was short. Having the fight end in the 5th is a bonus. If it would have stretched on then you see the prolonged damage creep in. Baranchyk should take 6-8 months off for sure though. He will need it.
