Ruiz problems are not the trainer but outside the gym.

But yeah it looks like he is just partying now. I don't knock him though, his money he can do what he wants.

Good for a fighter? Not really.

How much did he make for the AJ fights ?
Who knows how much he made. When I see someone who came into a heap of money I also wonder how much they spent and did they pay their taxes. Maybe he will get bored with the toys and realize the clock is ticking. You are right life can be shorter for some people but an athlete's window of opportunity can pass quickly.

Land of the free and home of the brave where even poor people can afford to be morbidly obese. It's kind of beautiful in a sick way and I mean that sincerely.

Arreola may have been a wasted career. Unlike Ruiz he never made excuses for the fact that his preparation was less than par. I just don't understand why they don't seem to know each other better. Both Mexican heavies and from SoCal. You would think they would have gotten in the ring together. I think Andy could just be burned out on boxing. He has been doing this since he was very young. Maybe changing trainers gives him some incentive to train better. Like someone changing jobs.

I don’t think Ruiz ever expected to be in the position he was in last year.
He goes from making barely 6 figures in his whole career to making 20 million plus in two fights.
It’s not just the people around him, he is just not a disciplined fighter and doesn’t commit to his nutrition.
I don’t think a long layoff is good for him right now. He’s not a self motivated guy and it will be very tough to refocus to put himself in HW contention again.
