Rahman To Return in 07, PPV Bombs

It was reported in the Baltimore Sun, that former heavyweight champion Hasim Rahman will take off for the rest of the year, and return to the ring in 2007. Promoter Bob Arum told the paper that Rahman's recent loss to Oleg Maskaev, cost the fighter a $4 million dollar payday against Wladimir Klitschko. When Rahman does return, the plan is to target a top-level opponent. [details]

I'm glad the PPV bombed. It should've been on BAD or FNF to begin with! I certainly did not pay to see it.

Rahman will be back, yes, in Ballroom Boxing.

I hope this is a lesson to other promoters, put ppv worthy matchups on ppv.

IMO losing to Maskaev proves he really can't hang with Vlad, but maybe the poor ppv will help the HW division to realize that the only way to bring big money & fan interest back is with one word; Unification
