Is Andre Ward Top 50 ATG???

You'd be very generous to give him a top 50 spot. Personally, I wouldn't have him that high. Not sure where I would rank him but compared to guys of the past, he hasn't done enough to warrant that placement.

Without sitting down to make a list, I would put him in the top 100. Top 50 seems a little high, although he is certainly one of the best ever at 168.

Not even close. SMW run was overrated, he's fought 3 real challengers in his career, should have lost 1st Kovalev fight, wasted years in contract wars, and retired too early.

If he cemented himself at either 168 or 175 after Kovalev, maybe.

Plus Rodriguez, Berrera, Green were decent fighters at the time Ward fought them.

Let’s put it this way...in 10 years, nobody will even have a clue who Andre Ward is/was. He isn’t even in the top 100.

A lot of people forget a lot of fighters if they don’t have a record of knocking people out. That’s not an good example.

It's a weird one, even after everything he did – I think a lot of people can say his career was lacking a bit to be called an ATG. He could probably beat most fighters head-to-head, lb for lb. It takes someone who can box really well and some extra freakish ability to beat him – power/athleticism.

When you have a fighter like Bernard Hopkins tell a young Andre Ward there is no money in the world to make me fight you, when Hopkins fought Pavlik, Tarver, Dawson, Cloud, Calzaghe, Wright.

To me that speaks volumes to
Andres Greatness.

I was thinking Kessler, Froch and Kov. Abraham got owned by Froch, and was always undersized for SMW. Can't count Dawson for crap. He was so drained the dude could barely move. And yes, Dawson brought it upon himself with his trash talk, doesn't make it a good win.
