And yea, Peter Quillen was on video in an interview saying triple G “has to build up his name more” before he would consider to fight him LOL.
I don’t care who considered Quillin a top fighter. It surely was not me and I never cared for him. He never fought any good fighters outside of Andy Lee (who should’ve won that fight imo) and Daniel Jacobs. He was always under other boxers. Martinez, Sturm, GGG, Geale, and even Cotto were all ranked over him at his best when they were around. And Geale and Sturm were both weak contenders imo, a product of a then weak MW division. Quillin was a such a crap fighter that even a past his best Angulo beat him.

The only fans who thought really highly of Quillin were GGG fans, who wanted to see that fight because Quillin was such a weak contender and an easy win for GGG. Just like Sturm would have been, and an old, close to retirement Martinez. If anything I was calling for GGG vs Lara and Canelo. Notice I didn’t even acknowledge Saunders. Oh Saunders told Eubank Jr that GGG can beat them both in the same night. Yeah, Saunders the great has spoken. Saunders with the stacked resume and HOF career. Would’ve been a great win for GGG. Having Average Joe Saunders on his resume would‘ve made his resume so much better than having Marco Antonio Rubio or Curtis Stevens. Because Saunders is so much better than all of those fringe contenders GGG fought.

Saunders, Quillin, Sturm, the murderers row who ducked a prime GGG.

Jesus Christ! I’m glad you didn’t say Canelo avoided GgG a “whopping 1.5 years!” Lol. It’s a good thing that fight happened in such little time. There are narratives from other fighters surpassing 2-3 years in delaying fights and still being talked today! Lol
