It's easy enough to say, oh he was a quitter when watching fights from your tv. You do realize how many fights Chavez had before fighting Randall right? He was 89-0-1 entering their first fight. Call him a quitter if you want. I just think that's a bit disrespectful given what he accomplished and the fact that he didn't lose a fight until post 90 fights in. Nobody is invincible. Eventually your body starts to break down. If the bulk of fighters today had that many fights in their career, they would be so damaged, they'd quit in the early rounds against frindge contenders.I don't think they're the same as boxers or in achievements at all. But.... I did follow seniors career enough to know that he was 100% a sore loser and in the rematch with frankie Randall, he said he couldn't continue due to a cut, the fight went to the scorecards where he was fortunate enough to get a decision in a fight that it looked like he was losing. That's just the truth. Otherwise he's a hall of famer and his sin should even be allowed to buy a ticket to visit the hall of fame.Comment

stop using the # of fights as a defense. If anything, he should be criticized for that. When have you seen an undefeated world champion with 40, 50 and 60 plus wins fighting novices with losing records and single digit fights? That was criminal and by no means added much wear and tear to him. There are sparring sessions rougher than about 50 or more of his fights. If he quit, he quit. Can't act as if it didn't happen based on past legacy. It's easy enough to say, oh he was a quitter when watching fights from your tv.
