Charlo. The 2 Canelo fights took something out of GGG.

Charlo circa now, likely by KO even. Age obviously plays into this. GGG even 2-3 years ago much more of an unknown imoComment

Still a winnable fight for GGG but Charlos chances are better than they've ever been based on their respective performances against DChenko.GGG is knocking on 40 with a lot of mileage. Charlo is in his prime. Would be a great fight. I don't see it happening though as I believe Gman is on his way out & hard fights like that aren't in his best interest.Comment

I think GGG is better overall but Charlo's younger, bigger and fresher so I would favor him. I actually think GGG should move up to 168. Get Billy Joe Saunders. Get that Canelo trilogy fight and then get out of the sport before he gets punchy.I've been calling for this fight for a while, but this would be an epic war. Both guys have iron chins and they will stand right in front of each other. Their power jabs are like power punches and they are coming to put a hurting on their opponent.
FOTY written all over it.Last edited by yankees7448; 09-26-2020, 10:13 PM.Comment

The sad part is that we will never know. Promoter wars strike again. DAZN aren't feeding GGG to anyone unless and until they can force a 3rd Canelo fight and recoup some money. PBC would be more interested but they have no interest in having Charlo lose anytime soon; they want to continue to create some buzz for him and GGG is still a toss-up fight, at best, for him at this stage.Comment

I just remember G looking old and flabby last time; lethargic, etc....but it can't be that bad, can it? Was it THAT bad? I remember someone posted pics of the weigh-in for that fight after the fact trying to show that GG was the same beforehand and that there should have been no excuses, and yeah he looked pretty normal...but man when the lights turned on, he looked old. But, he still put in his work in a that mini war. and I liked Jermell's performance tonight...but even given all of that, I'm still leaning GG because I still think there is a class difference at play.
fwiw Charlo, to me, also looked relatively slow against Sergey and he is prime...some credit should go to Sergey and the way that he uses his footwork and feints to freeze guys so he can jump in...it can make the other guy look hesitant, gun shy, and lack of typical output. GGG suffered from age, but also this nice attribute that Sergey possesses. I gotta see his next fight and come back to this threadLast edited by LA_2_Vegas; 09-26-2020, 10:25 PM.Comment
