So Canelo and Golden Boy are basically done right?

    From the athletic article

The mediator received DAZN’s contract with Golden Boy along with the promotion’s pact with Alvarez during the Zoom meeting. The language pertaining to approval rights over Alvarez's opponents doesn’t mesh in the two deals, a major point of contention in the lead-up to the boxer's lawsuit against both parties.

DAZN offered Alvarez a restructured deal during the mediation process, sources said, that would pay the Mexican icon upward of $20 million guaranteed per fight, along with upside tied to how many DAZN subscribers each event generates. The offer is similar in structure to the way boxers are paid for pay-per-view events, where they earn a certain amount of dollars for every show purchase over a certain plateau.
That's a clear breach of contract by Golden Boy and the restructured offer from DAZN is a slap in the face. The deal they offered Canelo is a deal he could get from PBC, Showtime, or Bob Arum. Probably could get a better deal because he'd be earning a percentage of $75 instead of a percentage of $20. Or is it a percentage of the yearly $100 sub?

Canelo and Stephen Espinosa need to talk...

Well I'm glad that's sorted. Have you let Canelo know that you've reached a decision?

He doesn't need me to tell him. Read the lawsuit he filed, he already knows.

I think the point of this thread is that it's starting to look like it was Oscar and GBP who weren't straight with Canelo and not DAZN. Maybe he should go to Espinoza / SHO but I'm not sure he has grounds for suing DAZN if GBP didn't ever show him the DAZN contract. Dunno though, let's see what comes out going forward.

How is DAZN going to renege on their original deal? If I'm Canelo I take their ass to court.

                Canelo has significant leverage IMO.
Him sitting out hurts them badly in a year where they are hemorrhaging subscribers.
From what I’ve read his deal is fully guaranteed as long as he gives them the fights agreed to.
His argument will be that no clear process was put in place to select those opponents so why should he have to give up money he was guaranteed.
If DAZN wanted to make sure he was worth it they would have made the contract incentive based then but they didn’t.
If I was on his legal team I would balk at any mention of reduced purses.

Can't believe that a company like DAZN, with hundreds of millions of dollars of investment couldn't even hire a proper legal team to check out the contracts thoroughly to begin with. this is ludicrous.

Same thing I think. Don't know how DAZN are at fault here if they were going off the contract they signed with Golden Boy.
