Which of those fights was Holmes outlanded by his opponent in power punching? In more rounds than him?

Holyfield outlanded him. Obviously Tyson. Holmes used his jab to gain control in rounds he was losing. Once he established his jab he started throwing right hands hooks etc. His jab was a central part of his offense and defense. Once he established it and got his opponent guessing he would open up. How important is the jab. Go look at the comments concerning the Derevyanchenko Charlo fight. There are plenty of comments about Charlos jab. Like I said the jab is a scoring punch and should be counted as one.

Derevyanchenko is the same guys he's always been. His style is what causes him to start slow and then claim "robbery" at the end after he gives up the first half of the fight. Plus, he doesn't have punching power to keep any of the top MWs honest. If he wants to win a title, he should consider fighting at 154.

At this point, this discussion is all over the place and I am having a hard time following your point. And it’s very possible you also don’t get my point.

Tyson beat Holmes. Holyfield beat Holmes. I was asking which fights was Holmes outlanded by in power punching and he won with his jab. The discussion was about Holmes winning fights with his jab comparing it to GGG-Derevyanchenko.

I see what is going on here. We are not discussing the same thing. You have now said things, in response to me, that threw me off completely.

“How can you say jabs aren’t a real punch” - paraphrase.

This is not what i’m discussing and no where in my posts do I say the jab is not a real punch.

“Jabs are scoring punches and they should be counted”

Again, no where in my posts do I say jabs should not be scored at all.

I think you are creating your own back and forth argument and using me as a default poster to argue with yourself? I am not sure how many times I have to repeat that outlanding your opponent with powerpunches is better than him outlanding you with jabs.

My posts have not said anything about jabs being “fake punches“, or jabs “not counting”.

Now for the last time, if your opponent lands more power punches than you, more telling blows than you, more head snapping punches than you, in more rounds than you. He should win the fight.

Jabs are not fake punches. Jabs are scoring punches. Power punches should be counted as better than a jab. Landing more power punches than your opponent, in more rounds, should get you the nod in a decision.

          For the last time....
