You are speaking as if 'Mike Tyson became some sort of clown after 1989' In reality? That did not happen. You are speaking the way you do 'Because you have been influenced, by the myths that surround Mike Tyson' You have bought into all the fairy-tales that people tell themselves.

Mike Tyson for 95% of his career, was always deemed as a major threat 'By the media, and people within the boxing world'.

There was never a point where? People mocked his abilities, or viewed him as a soft fighter 'Everyone of his opponents, where apprehensive of his abilities even Lennox Lewis'.
Just because he was always considered a threat by the media and fans doesn't mean he actually was.

I mean, people talk about him like that now and he's an old man.

Post prison he was still a top fighter. His wins (and championships) at that time even made him still an elite level fighter. But he wasn't one of the greats anymore and he was well and truly finished a long time before he hung up the gloves.

Lewis respected his power, but knew he should beat that version of Tyson comfortably, and did.

Never understood the audacity of spectators talking about fighters as failures simply because they didn't achieve as much as the next man.
As the french would say? "Boeuf a la mode".

No but seriously? Buster Douglas did not ruin Mike Tyson 'Tyson was still pretty good under Richie Giachetti' Technique had changed slightly, but he was in condition always under Giachetti etc.

Mike Tyson was a threat 'No fighter who has ever faced Mike Tyson? Thought he was a joke or soft. All of his opponents where tense and apprehensive 'Because he was a threat'. I don't care about what fans or the media thought 'I am only looking at how his fellow competitors behaved' etc.

Don't be fooled by the fairy-tales, well it is up to yourself really.

That's the classic way new champions got popular. Before TV they toured with popular ex champions and exhibited their abilities.

Exhibitions are exhibitions, there is nothing wrong with showing people the art of boxing without going into a full pro fight.

It would be funny to see him get cleaned out inside a round but you’ve got a point.
