That's the point. He should have been fighting like that from round one, but when he got dropped he tried to get back, then cruised 5 rounds for no reason.

I'm pretty sure he had never seen anything or felt anything like manny before lol and seeing/feeling that for the first time isnt gonna make you go into the first couple rounds guns blazing lol

I like keith I think he gets a lot of flak for being soft to the body and a little chinny but after being in there with top guys I think hes actually pretty damn tough.

Dont get me wrong tho I wouldnt consider him great but hes a solid ww top contender.. and he was in there, even at his age, with manny friggin Pacquiao lol

Floyd had never fought anyone like Manny either. He came right out in the start of the fight, nailed Manny with a sharp shot and Manny had no answer from that point on.

All Keef had to do was follow that blueprint.

Or, follow his own trash talk where he talked about and demonstrated Horn's bullying. He could have done that.

I mean he literally did everything the opposite of what he was supposed to do.

I distinctly remember it being round 9 (?) where Keith dominated that one round and thought 'If Keith did that for 7 rounds he'd win the fight' but that one round was the closest he ever came to winning. I think the writing has been on the wall for a long time: Keith found his silk pajamas and doesn't want to get out of them.

Most fighters ''struggle'' mentally after a loss. Especially their 1st loss. More so if he's a top dog. If the loser feels he could have won if he did a couple of things differently, that will mess with his mind.

Pac did not wipe Keef out. Good win for Pac, though.

Well despite all his flaws floyd is anything but mentally weak in the ring..

And let's face it Thurman is no floyd.. it takes some pretty damn strong mental toughness to get punched in the face by manny Pacquiao and stick to the gameplan.

And despite that I thought keith still did better than expected, even impressive at some points, I didnt think he would make it 10 rounds after seeing him wobbled by fighters he should have had no business being in trouble with

I feel like that silk pajamas metaphor is pretty applicable.. he just has the feel of a guy who feels fulfilled and probably doesnt want to go through the rigors of training for a fight and then actually fighting anymore.. especially after being out so long with injuries

I remember ward said something along those sentiments before retiring.

I guess he was lying when he was talking about he wasn't scared to "let the zero go".
