I'm confused about Haney. Is he or isn't he the WBC champ. Lopez said he'll have all 4 belts after his fight with VL, but I thought Haney was he WBC champ. At least he is listed as such in the Ring due to he WBC making Loma the franchise champ. I don't know what's going on with this.

It's bogus. Loma is the WBC champ. Any other belt is interim or made up. Loma deserves the chance to unify.

Ring magazine,Boxrec, ESPN, and Boxing Scene all rank Teo Lopez ahead of Haney. Loma is fighting the correct guy. He is fighting the number 1 guy and the guy he should fight. If he was fighting Haney boxing fans would say why is he fighting Haney and ducking Lopez. Haney is very young and will get a chance to fight the top 3 or 4 lightweights soon and we will see if he is as good as you think he is.

Every time Loma fights someone, these idiots come out of the woodwork talking about he should be fighting someone else. Before he insisted on the Lopez fight they claimed that he was scared and ducking him. Russell Jr. would ruin Haney right now and couldn't hardly lay a glove on Loma.

I really like this kid as a fighter, but I'm pumping the brakes on the Haney hype-train though. Until he does something other than pummel club fighters, i'm not at all interested in watching him fight anymore. I've already seen him knock out fighters that have no business being in the ring with him. He needs to step up the competition or be left behind his peers...

Seriously though. If Teofimo Lopez makes a good account of himself, but doesn't manage to win a decision against Loma, it would still be far more impressive than all of Teo's wins combined so far. Including his impressive title winning performance against Commey.

Same can be said for Ryan Garcia who is taking a HUGE step up in competition against Luke Campbell.

Haney needs a meaningful fight soon.
