Imagine if Wilder was a slick boxer

The frustrating thing is I think with proper training from a young age he could have f been slicker than an oil spill.

He has the speed, athleticism and endurance, but he's riddled with bad habits.

I envision a version of Wilder with tremendous head movement, making stiff euros miss with 8 punch combinations, doing an Ali shuffle then landing a big straight right.

I feel like his team really didn't develop him too great.

He's a dim IQ. Gotta have some smarts to be a good boxer.

Speaking of, what grade U in now?

If he were more slick his power would be reduced.

Part of the reason his shots are so devastating is that he throws them with such reckless abandon. He's not afraid to look like an idiot, missing badly or throwing himself off balance. He's not afraid to get countered, even when it costs him like against Fury or even Molina, who punished Wilder until Wilder finally stopped him.

One of Wilder’s biggest assets in a way is that he’s not the traditional boxer. You put him in a ring at age 10 and we probably have a very different Wilder and perhaps not for the best.

It's true. If Wilder started at age 5 we'd be watching a giant dancing Sugar Ray Leonard that knocks his opponents down with jabs, and lands a perfectly-timed right hand that sends them to the moon.
