You don’t know what you’re talking about. Many of us here know what a drained fighter looks like. Canelo in the Fielding and Kovalev weigh ins doesn’t mean he was cutting weight to make 168 or 175 as he did at 154-160. Your first sentence doesn’t make any sense. Lol. “Lately” then you add “but look at him fight night.” “Filled” means he wasn’t cutting water like before. Look at Mikey Garcia in the Spence weigh in. How much did he gain? Or you just want to say “but Jacobs doe” lol

I do not care what many of you think you know. This is between you and I since you are trying to discredit what I wrote. Canelo has always had issues with weight. A fighter making weight does not have to constantly fight above his weight class and have fighters fight outside of theirs. Canelo always drags feet the second half of any fight. Look at his fights with Ggg especially the 2nd one. He would start out great the first 30 seconds then go into survival mode to recup his energy and finish off the round looking good again but he would rarely put on 3 minutes of good boxing in the latter half of the fight.

What I mean by filled is come fight night versus weigh in he does not look that different. Look at his pictures of when he was fighting at 155 versus now. Weigh in he looked like a skeleton and on fight night he looked bulked up.

That’s because you don’t box. Jermall Charlo is big. He hydrates 15lbs on fights. Yet he can still perform. Charlo is a very tense fighter, like Spence. Those are basic fundamentals but from the eye test you could call that flat footed, just wide legs out and a tight guard. Canelo has shown WAY MORE diversity in style with all types of movement that Spence nor the Charlo Bros. have ever done. Guess what!? That’s optional! Canelo is a power puncher BY STYLE!

Like I said? If you ever sparred, you’d know what it feels like to do less exertion with power shot combinations vs more jabs. Canelo Dips a lot. That’s a lot of weight and exhaustion. Of course he’s going to be tired!!! Lol. That’s what’s fighting is all about.

None of you guys know what stamina is with proper context. I’d say Figueroa Jr., a former track athlete, has better stamina than Spence, Crawford, Canelo, Charlo, AND Omar throws heavy shots. Figueroa Jr. has always been highly athletic and his punch rate would seem like Flyweights...

What’s the point? STYLES!!!! Watch Charlo vs Brandon Adams... how much of a soft dull chess match was the compubox? Compare that level of style to Canelo’s compubox to GGg. To do what Canelo did with GGg - a serious threat - was ballsy and only means that Canelo is upper echelon. It’s all elementary. Anybody who says “Canelo doesn’t have good stamina” doesn’t KSAB...

Power punching from the hardest punchers in the game wears you out more than the opponent who can’t reciprocate that style or power. Or you want Canelo to just throw more jabs less power punches? Canelo one badass combination power puncher. Enjoy it while his reign lasts.

I have sparred and fought before. I used to be trained by 2 former golden glove champs. Plus my friend was former multiple hw amateur champ. What does this have anything to do with weight and hydrating? I am not taking away from Canelo's greatness. He can be great and still have flaws in his game. If you seriously understood how much cutting weight and re-hydrating affected the body you would not be arguing. The only way boxers cut down to their weigh in weight is by shedding water. They then drink a gallon or so before the fight to gain it back. This is far easier to do when you are younger. Hence my original comment. Canelo found it easier to cut down 2 weight classes then balloon up and have a size advantage over his opponents.

You can excuse him all you want but I will still say that he has stamina issues. When you are clearly taking half the round off and you start to get tired like clockwork in every big fight, that is a sign of stamina issues. I am not going to argue him winning or losing the first fight. I will say though that he did a fair amount of back tracking or running whatever you want to call it simply because he was tired.

Going up and down in weight affects the body. Studies have shown that doing this often affects your thyroid. I think Canelo is a great boxer and P4P he is in the top 3 right now. I also think that he still has some room for improvement.

Dude... I thought they cut 15lbs of flesh and then stitched it back !

And regarding Canelo’s “flaws” is all subjective. Every trainer has different techniques as well as different schools of boxing worldwide. Your perspective of “flaws” refers to what context or technique in the ring?

Posters gotta stop pretending they know ...

My perspective of flaws refers to Canelo gassing out more than he should to be top level or one of the best of all time. He tends to be a bit flat footed meaning he has trouble chasing down opponents or going on the offensive. He is a great boxer and sets up his punches beautifully, he is also great at counter punching. When it comes to him fighting a slick defensive fighter he has trouble because he cannot properly cut off the ring.

What experience do you have in the ring?

Lol. These are forum myths man. Its what others say and others repeat. There’s no way boxers and hobbyists say this stuff man. It’s like 6 years beyond cliche.

Haven't seen Johnson in his last cpl fights, but he's been a solid fighter overall...on/off sometimes it seems, thought he would have done better. Munguia's defense is so leaky that anyone is going to get chances to land, really don't know how long Munguia can last that long in his career...I like to watch him though, throwing bombs with no regard, looking to fight -

Not sure you have noticed but I have not been on these forums or any other forum for years. I do not regurgitate what others say. I give my opinions based on what I know and think. If you want to counter with your opinion that is fine we can have a discussion.

Otherwise you are just about as useful as a heater in the dessert.
