Not everyone has been responsible out here. I also live in the bay and I hear about parties on the DL and all kinds of stuff, that is exasperating the situation. Not to mention protesting, for any reason, also added to the numbers as it is a crowd and that again, exasperates the situation. Declaring a lockdown isn't enough. People actually need to adhere to the rules and use common sense.

A friend of mine's son refused to get tested when the city wanted his entire family tested. His son is one of those Santa Cruz hippie types and basically said F off to the test etc. A few weeks later he received a letter with his test result saying he was positive..........How is he positive if he never took the test? All these numbers are inflated. The hospitals are getting massive amounts of money per covid patient they have. It is in their interest to have more positive patients than not.

The numbers do not lie. The mortality rate of this virus is very minimal. All those parties on the DL you mention. That will continue to happen because people were not meant to be caged up like animals. Look how long prohibition lasted. People still found a way to get drunk. If people are worried about getting this then they can stay home and lock themselves up, everyone else has a right to live their life as they please.

If you don't lockdown once the instance rate exceeds the ICU beds of your health system your low mortality will shift to high mortality exponentially. Denmark tried to do little lockdown but that's generally considered to have failed now. That's why they haven't chosen to do it so far ...

What is the mortality rate for Denmark? There are other countries that never locked down as well as states in the US. They have cases but it never blew up and ICU beds are always at 80% even before covid. I traveled to another state on vacation where they were not locked down and nobody was wearing a mask, people were still somewhat distancing but for the most part everyone lived their life as normal. I had to come back home after my vacation was over to a state where they continue to lock down while the numbers do not change. Locking down does not work. The numbers have not changed for locking down or wearing masks.

What is the % of boxers per division that make it to tv regularly? I agree that there are some who love living that flashy lifestyle and live beyond their means. There are far more that do not and live paycheck to paycheck. Just because you are a professional does not mean you are making good money. People are dying everyday in far greater numbers than some hyped up virus. The economy is in shambles because of the unnecessary lockdowns. There are plenty of states doing just fine that never locked downs. Do you not find it interesting that the states that are hardest hit are majority left leaning?

We locked down for months here in the bay area and yet the numbers have remained the same and actually went up while in lock down. What are we supposed to do? If people want to go to an event live let them go. If you are worried then you can stay home.

Santa Clara County where I used to live. The spike of cases during lockdown is caused by the infection spread immediately prior. The data shows sharp decline after the lockdown has been in effect for some time. Learn how to process information. Its like having a fever and taking a pill - it takes time for it to take effect during which your temperature may still be rising. And look at the spike when the lockdown was relaxed. Look at the total picture.
