Comments Thread For: Joe Smith: I Believe I'm A Little Tougher Than Beterbiev; I'll Get Him Out Of There

Joe Smith Jr. hopes his foreseeable fight against Artur Beterbiev happens just as much as many boxing fans. The emerging light heavyweight contender considers a showdown with Beterbiev a can't-miss action fight that'll result in a knockout. The hard-hitting light heavyweights would have to win at least one more fight apiece prior to their bout becoming a more realistic possibility, but battling Beterbiev is in the back of Smith's mind.

Would love to see this fight. Smith has earned it. He may bot win it but he will give it a great go and he can really punch.

I like it. Not many guys running towards a fight with Beterbiev but Smith sounds like he wants it and sounds like he has some confidence
            in his chances as well.

I think Beterbiev will win but Smith is probably the most dangerous opponent for him out there ATM. The toughness combined with the dynamite in his fists makes him a live dog.

There are more skilled guys out there at LHW but it's gonna take a different skillset to really give Artur problems (IMO). He showed that in the Gvozdyk fight; If you can't hurt him, he will eventually break you down. I think Smith's toughness can buy him enough time to possibly land some dynamite on Artur and dent that chin.

Beterbiev is the more sound technical boxer. Smith has that powerful right but he is unable to land it or set it up properly against good boxers. If Smith can learn to use his length and learn to set up his right better he has a chance. Both are tough and both can hit. It would be an exciting fight regardless and I am glad to see Smith doing his due diligence in securing his spot to fight the top guy in the division.

Win or lose the matchup is exciting for either fighter. It is time we start celebrating the journey instead of the finish line.

Make this fight happen, both fighters will fight to the end, good fight to make.
The fight has the look on paper as a great match up.
                    Fight of the year candidate.
