Being Number 1 ranked really means something once the sanctioning body actually orders the the champion to fight his mandatory. That's why I don't get too excited about Shawn being ranked number 1 by the WBO yet. Don't get me wrong, I do want to see Bud vs Porter.

I'm getting confused now. One thread currently floating around says he's gonna go ahead and fight Bud bc he is the WBO mando.
He also wants the winner of Spence vs DSG.
Shawn you need to pick one... Hes playing the smart thing going after both imo.

Crawford already said he gains nothing from fighting Porter.

No doubt Haymon/Pbc will keep in house welterweight round-robin of Spence/Porter/Thurman/Garcia going for at least one or two more years. Spence - assuming He is the pre-crash Spence is a notch above the rest....round-robin already getting old and dull. Crawford is a notch above also....will suck if they never face each other for best at welter!

The winner should fight Crawford or Pacquiao. The loser should face Porter or Thurman.

I get the strange feeling Spence and Crawford don't want to risk fighting Porter and rather put that marination to the side and make the mega fight instead of a war with Porter.

He "expects" to fight the winner of Spence/Garcia.

He "wants" to cash in mandatory on Crawford.

Very easy distinction.

In other words, he thinks Crawford/Arum will duck out. And they probably will.

But the other point Spence said, is that he would be open to Porter AFTER Porter beat Crawford. That's an option too. That would allow Spence to fight Manny.

PBC (scared Al) WW's like to recycle washed up fighters with recycled dollars.... After soft punching Ugas forced Porter to try to fight on his back foot, TC would walk straight threw Porter (along with all other PBC WW's) TKO'd 6-7th round... Pops Porter throws the towel!!

While I'm a fan of Porter he should fight TC. They could fight as early as December. If not I think EJ (provided he gets past Danny)vs. Pac then a showdown with Bud. Porter could sit one out if he doesn't fight Bud first.

Because the IBF are ready to strip Spence if he doesn't defend against the IBF interim champ next and elevate the interim to full champ. They don't **** around in their present day form. Ask Saul Alvarez

Ok, thanks. So, if that's the case, and IBF mandatory is next, there's that fight, followed by, potentially, a Porter rematch and Pacquiao/WBA unification.
Sounds like No Pay Cut Crawford got a lot of waiting to do . . . .
