    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diversity_jurisdiction

For anyone's who's interested the technically centers around diversity jurisdiction - a situation where a sizeable civil action is being brought against multiple parties of differing state or nationality. Idea is that the federal court is used to prevent bias from the judicary of the state in question towards the parties from that state... but it requires the plaintiff to accurately identify where the residence / place of business of the defendents which is where the problem has come.

A corporation is treated as a citizen of the state in which it is incorporated and the state in which its principal place of business is located.[4] A partnership or limited liability company is considered to have the citizenship of all of its constituent partners/members.[5]
Golden Boy and DAZN US are LLCs but their 'citizenship' -the legal jurisdiction under which they fall - has been given as if they were corporations, ie; just the state where their HQ is located, rather than all the states where the partners in those businesses reside (presumably meaning at least Oscar and BHOP)

DAZN US is registered with Companies house here in the UK which states the parent is under Delaware legal jurisdiction.

    https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/FC035092

US registration seems to lie with these guys:

    https://www.unitedcorporate.com/about-us/

But it's not specified which persons would be named as 'partners' or 'members' under US law.

Proof of citizenship and jurisdiction is not limited to Americans. Canelo isn't American. He should put in that Exeter estate address too.

The specific issue here pertains to the naming of the 'citizenship' of the defendents I think, not sure where the citizenship of the plaintiff fits in to the proceedings but I'd have to imagine there's legislature pertaining to the circumstances under which a foreign national can bring procedings against US based en******.

EDIT: Titties ain't even spelled like that... effing autocensors.

EDIT: Mmm. Just had the briefest of scans and in the most general terms it appears that it's acceptable for non-US plaintiffs to bring action in the US since by doing so they are de facto voluntarily submitting to US jurisdiction. In effect they're accepting US norms and laws for the resolution of their dispute. Seems to be a largely accepted thing internationally that folk can bring actions under the legal system of foreign countries if they feel they've been wronged by entities within that country.

Problems usually come when you try to enforce rules decided by the courts of one country over entites in another - or of course accross US state boundaries (which is why this whole jurisdiction naming issue is a thing in the first place).

Yea, I have a similar feeling. If they were serious, they wouldn't have run to journos first with that lawsuit as they did.

Btw, isn't Fat Dan in charge of this matter, or is this decision too depressive for him?
