Mfers still sign with Don King so idk about that, but it will certainly hurt business for them if this is true.

Also how the fook is a guy signed for this much money to a network & he don't know the actual details of the deal?

Boxers reallllllllly need to stop trusting promoters so much especially when you are one of the top draws & moneymakers in the sport. Boxers getting fooked over n over n over is ridiculous.

But, I read the complaint Canelo's lawyers filed (posted it in one of my threads too).

In the complaint, Canelo allegedly asked DAZN prior to see the contract they had with GBP and according to the lawsuit DAZN did not comply.

I don't know what difference this will make but it seems to me that DAZN would have let him see it back then if there was no problem.

      But, we'll see...
Idk that this situation is good for anyone. This just breaks down better why DAZN gots such goofy fights for Canelo that they see as premier fights or whatever that don't fit with Canelo's & GBP's trajectory/plans.

As to the bolded that shoulda been a big warning sign for Canelo & he shoulda made sure he seen the deal before ANYTHING officially got signed preferably or at least moved forward with the deal.

“Rather than focus on the super competitive and expensive U.S. market for team sports, DAZN is pivoting, using its connection to international boxing rights to expand the business globally,” an official from the company told The Athletic.
DAZN attorneys, said the official, are in agreement with Alvarez’s claim against Golden Boy of fraud by concealment in the lawsuit.

Calling the lawsuit “the come-to-Jesus moment” in the three-way dispute, DAZN officials are expressing some optimism that “DAZN and Canelo can patch things up, because the middleman (Golden Boy) is the heavy here.”
Looks like DAZN is going to severely cut their boxing program and they have all but given up on trying to obtain rights to the Sunday Ticket. And clearly they want to get rid of GBP entirely and deal with Canelo directly.

UK should be expecting to hold some big fights again as the last few years boxing has essentially been dead there.

Hate this for guys like Garcia, Ortiz Jr, Ellis, etc.

What does this mean for prospects like Castro?

You’re confused. For the 100th time... Canelo signed with GBP, like he always has. This is about GBP and the DAZN deal which is confidential and no business of Canelo. Canelo’s Team is inquiring about GGG in writing from the GBP and DAZN deal. it really means nothing since both Canelo and GGG agreed, but there could be some dark secrets between the details (profits) from a Canelo GGG fight. It’s probably why it’s talked about so much. And industry reported that GGG’s deal promised a Canelo fight, which would mean that these details might exist in both the GGG Promotions and GBP-DAZN contract.

Now as I’ve been saying since 2019. If you’re Canelo Alvarez, would you like others conspiring to make profits off a fight that your own contract (GbP Canelo) didn’t specify? Canelo been saying for the longest he didn’t care and wanted extra money. GBp and DAZN even GOT LUCKY that Canelo agree as did GGG (even though GGG probably already knew he had to fulfill that).

The problem is that DAZN wasted Canelo’s time during the pandemic, while Canelo agree to a 30% cut, yet didn’t get Smith or BJS.

DAZN didn’t even make a counter offer from 50% to 30%. Instead DAZN wanted to give equity. If I were Blavatnik I would be heated at the DAZN execs for being skeptic with Canelo’s pull during post Covid and going global.

I still think Eddie Hearn is much a part of this headache behind the scenes, and like I said, he’s enjoying the rift at DAZN USA because he’s getting the new UK Territory. Think of it as a student getting a D+ in a test but then being awarded with a new test grade, waive the first grade, make the new test easier, and Presto DAZN UK.

Totally agree with your take on the bolded. The problem is that if it's true it tends to support the allegation that DAZN knew something was foul with it and colluded with GBP to keep Canelo in the dark (one explanation, but perhaps not the only one). It's gonna be an interesting soap opera, but I don't expect much from DAZN as far a GBP cards til this is sorted out.

The genius of the lawsuit is that it's going to force DAZN and GBP to be adversarial and in so doing they are likely going to prove Canelo's case against each for him.

Matchroom could also be involved since Hearn also pushed for the Trilogy while co-promoting GGG Promotions. DAZN and GBP wouldn’t be able to conspire a trilogy fight without GGG Promotions or Hearn not in on it.

Has Hearn even said anything? Keep an eye. For Hearn to be quiet on this is suspect.

Once you start digging and putting the pieces together DAZN comes across as shady and/or incompetent.
