Left out of the invitation only party hosted by Mayweather was Antonio Margarito, a dangerous and determined welterweight that many believe could be Mayweather's toughest challenge. Margarito is a poor man's Castillo, a never say die aggressive punching machine that applies intense pressure and tries to just overwhelm you. With a slick virtuoso like Mayweather, the only way to upset his rhythm is by getting in his chest and outmuscling him with power shots. Coincidentally, that is Margarito's forte'. Bob Arum and Top Rank offered $8 million to Mayweather for Margarito to meet, only to be declined. "Who has Margarito beaten?”, remarked Mayweather dismissively when asked asked about his reasons for not fighting Margarito. Mayweather has also stated that a fight with Margarito would not generate the kind of money that he is interested in.

What happened is that I stopped hating on Mayweather and decided to give credit where credit is due. I'll tell you, most everyone who is a big Margarito fan is someone who hates Mayweather. Once I stepped aside and stopped concerning myself with how I perceive fighters as people and looked at it objectively, I found that I didn't sympathize as much for Margarito.
If Mayweather was like Ray Leonard and fought the big fights people wanted to see and not what would make him the easiest money, Margarito wouldn't be as popular.
Margarito fills the void of a lot of Mayweather haters who are disillusioned by how he has carried about his career.
Here is the bottom line with Margarito and Mayweather. I wanted to see Margarito-Mayweather as much as the next guy, but it didn't happen and chances are it won't happen. So why live off the man's name trying in vain to get a fight when there are a ****load of fighters out there to fight?
He is doing that against Cotto, but IMO Cotto beats him. Simple as that. I'll take bets closer to fight time.
