Haha yeah, Team Pinoy tearing **** up right now. I knew my first Boxing Scene article had to kick ass, so I put in over time to make sure this was an H bomb. You know, shoutouts to Chups, KG, Manny P, Kadyo, Flipside, Czars Salad, Katz and all my other Team Pinoy soldiers. We did it! -
Gatti won a vacated title by beating Gianluco Branco, whereas Baldomir won the title from the linear champion at 147, then heralded Zab Judah. There is a clear difference between the legitimacy of Gatti's belt and Baldomir's championship.Originally posted by Crazy DudeSeems like a contradiction that fighting Gatti is picking inferior opposition to pick up a trinket and fighting Baldomir is a step in the right direction.
Also Hatton doesn't seem that eager to mix it up with him, I'd say.
Hatton has said on a couple of occasions that he'd fight him, but perhaps the case isn't as strong as Margarito's. Margarito really wants him and should be next after Baldomir. I doubt thats the route he'd go, probably would go to De La Hoya, who knows.Comment

Yeah but if Mayweather beats Baldomir easily I think that'll be forgotten pretty quickly.Originally posted by Asian SensationGatti won a vacated title by beating Gianluco Branco, whereas Baldomir won the title from the linear champion at 147, then heralded Zab Judah. Pretty descent article man you hit on some good points, but the fact is PBF is the heir apparent of everything boxing, and his not only a savey busniess man but backs it up in the ring, the talk about his star not rising or falling doesnt really hold merit with me because the fact is he still can/and always had the ability to make money and fights that look bad on paper like the Margarito fight or even the Gatti fight look great! Also him not fighting the top guy of a division since 2002, i mean damn thats kinda hard when you are the top guy in the division, and from 2002 to say him moving up to 147 who at Lightweight or Lightwelter was there that really wanted to fight him or would bring in the money that since he supposedly stopped fighting the best he has brought in? PBF is on a stretch right now were he can fight lesser opoonets and get away with it, but even with that said when did guys like Sosa who was on an 11 fight win streak pre Mayweather or a guy in N'Dou who had won 20+ pre Floyd or guys like Mitchell who before the PBF fight went 4-1 with the 1 coming to a at the time top 3 P4P guy in Tszyu become faded and not worthy?
PBF is the best marketable fighter in boxing right now and wants to get his money and if fights with Gatti that earn him 3mil + are deemed worthless then damn call me rich!Comment

"From Pillar to Post": Mayweather's Burden
The pound for pound title is a prestigious honor that comes with many benefits and stipulations. Such a distinction enhances a fighters marketability and ameliorates their standing among the public consensus. Along with the esteem and advantages that are associated with being the elite of the elite comes responsibility and expectations. With a record of 36-0 (24 KO) and title belts in 4 divisions, much is to be anticipated from the universally recognized pound for pound king “Pretty Boy” Floyd Mayweather Jr. Unparalleled physical ability and technical aptitude have made him into a great boxer, yet his considerable attributes have failed to translate into the kind of mainstream acceptance that other similarly accomplished fighters have received.
