Exactly why DAZN is toast in court when it comes to defining "premium opponent".

Even worse, the Mensas running DAZN said two MMA guys and a 47 year old were "premium".

DAZN had better get ready to write some big checks...

Not arguing either way over whether the definition is a good one or not but I believe when they used the term 'premium' they were refering to the amount of revenue they believed an opponent might create rather than to their quality as a boxer.

In short they were saying we'll pay you big $$$ if we think the fight will bring in plenty of subs. As to whether that was within their contractual rights is for the courts to decide. Could be there will be some debate over precisely what the two sides understood the term to mean.

How can you claim that the same standards are being applied when Jacobs and Kovalev are legitimate top 3 in their division and world champions when Canelo fought them, as opposed to Rolls and Sczarcrameto who aren’t even top 50?

Canelo gets criticized for fighting top opposition meanwhile GGG gets criticized for fighting bums. What does Canelo have to do to get credit? He’s already jumped like 5 weight classes and he’s physically smaller then GGG. Those are not the same standards...

You can’t compare proven world level top 3 ranked opposition to Steve Rolls and Sacramento, that is not objective. These are facts, they are not comparable in any way, shape, or form.

Acknowledging that GGG is physically bigger then Canelo is not fanboying, it’s a fact. Just because Canelo is genetically gifted and has the ability and skills to fight in different weight classes doesn’t make him naturally bigger man. You saw them stand beside each other fight night on two occasions, it was clear GGG was the bigger man.

Even if you're right about what DAZN considers "premium" that kinda helps Canelo's case more than it hurts it.

Who's going to buy a boxer vs MMA guy again after the Mayweather v McGregor fiasco. And it can be argued that today's casual fan doesn't even know who De La Hoya is.

It makes DAZN look worse, not better.
