Lame that Haymon can pull these tricks. He knows Canelo isn’t doing a purse bid. DAZN won’t do the fight and he’s not fighting on PBC or anywhere until this legal mess is sorted out.
He know Canelo will drop the title so he can match his two guys and held another title hostage for PBC bums.

Canelo dont got the title its vacant and Canelo petitioned for it. Boxing scene posted it the day after Benavidez beat Angulo. How the hell people can blame anybody for this besides the WBC is beyond me. With Canelo's lawsuit against Dazn and GBP he's out of contention all together. We not see him fight for years possibly. What it boils down to is Yildrim will fight the next available opponent in the WBC rankings for the vacant title because Dazn cant keep their word and pay what they said they would.

WBC has mandated this fight? Do the fighters get a say? Does Canelo even care about this belt and/or fight? Do the boxing fans care for that matter? Now would have been a great time to give all those alphabet belts the middle finger and do away with all these "champions" in the same weight classes.

So DAZN approves Rocky Fielding but not Yildirim. If there is not going to be fans the name has to be a lesser name, who did DAZN think he would be facing on their contract. Would there be enough top names to fill the entire contract and how many big names don't want to fight him or he won't want to fight them. It was obvious that at some point he would want or have to face some lesser competition if he was to keep to the May & Sept dates each year. Some negotiations with other big names may take too long and to fulfil the obligated dates they may have had to approve a lesser name.
At the end of the day it's Canelo and alot of Mexican fans will watch anyway no matter who he is fighting.

It would be interesting if Richard Schaefer's new promotional company (with an influx of cash from Haymon) won the purse bid for Canelo-Yildirim, and Canelo was on a PBC/Fox PPV in October.

Maybe that's why Canelo sued Golden Boy along with DAZN ... to break his promotional ties with Golden Boy?
