So who chooses your opponents if you are your own promoter through lion's only? Seems to me like an excuse or bad business. If you cannot get the top dog in the division then clear it out by defeating the other contenders this way you make yourself the clear cut choice for #1 contender.

But....go and watch the post fight interview of the Spence Porter fight and listen to what the reporter says to Spence about his next opponent.

Then come back and tell me that any of these guys choose their opponents.

Andrade ducked Charlo years back! Hindsight is 20/20!

He ducked the other Charlo, twice.

He never ducked this one.

For some reason he ain't scared of this one.

I remember they asked Trout after he fought both which one would be easier to fight against and he said he would prefer to fight Mall than Mell.

His reason had to do with speed and explosiveness.

He said the bigger Charlo was super strong and inhumanly solid but that he was easier because he is slower and more predictable.

He said it was harder to face the smaller Charlo because he is so fast explosive, and unpredictable.

Andrade could have avoided the smaller Charlo for the same or similar reasons.

The last time I heard someone say this was the build up to Wilder Fury. Deontay didn't want to hear any excuses. That's coz he'd already come up with them all, and he was gonna use them.Charlo should win this, Jacobs and Golovkin won, in decent fights. If he stops him, that's impressive. We'll see.

How about Andrade? Both Canelo and Charlo have avoided Andrade.

That fact gets lost and swept under the rug.

Soon they'll tell Andrade that he needs to start slugging like a mindless thug and when that doesn't get the fights they'll tell him to move up. After he starts to show some wear and tear all the tough guys will come out of the woodwork and call him out.

Andrade is too tall, too long & too much movement, a horrific nightmare for Canelo. Unfortunately Canelo will never, ever, ever fight Andreade. Although closer in size and more stationary, Charlo might also be too much to risk for Canelo. When Charlo puts Derevanchenko on the canvas you will see what I mean.
