Which fighters were the most affected by an increase or decrease in weight?

We know all about the Pacquiao types with their big wins spanning multiple divisions. What about the other guys whose moves backfired? What about the guys who discovered newfound power or conditioning?

I don't think Wilder can cope with carrying extra muscle mass, it is all non-functional.

Donaire never really looked good above junior feather. And look at him now, or at least vs Inoue. One of the best performances of 2019.

        True

I’d actually say the same for frampton. People often discredit Frampton’s win over Donaire because Donaire was fighting at a higher weight, but I always felt Frampton has lost something since moving up one or two weights too, he’s a very small guy.

Agreed, wilder had a bit extra weight for a 100m walk and it ruined his career.

He was heavier than usual vs Fury

Yes, true with Framps as well. He's just not the same fighter. I'd even go as far as saying he's lost his fire, sort of just turns up and goes through the motions now. He used to be quite exciting and to me a must-watch fighter. Not now.

I’d argue Chocolatito went up one class too far.

And Oscar is 0-life in fights where he picked the catchweight

JCC jr looks like trash above 160, he's 5-3 in fights above 160 (should be 4-4) but looks sluggish and gasses out

Brandon Rios lost a lot of his power when he went to 147

Poor Sadam Ali got brutalized going up in weight to 154 and fought Munguia, shoulda went back to 147 after the Cotto fight

Celestino Caballero was all set to move into featherweight after being a unified champ at superbantam but was upset by Jason Litzou to the surprise of everyone

Adrien Broner bit off more then he could chew at 147

I suspect Gervonta Davis will have trouble with the physical dimensions of the naturally taller, bigger fighters when he moves up in weight
