Yep If we compare past Andrade to future Andrade you look like you know something about boxing.
However... the truest comparison is to look at a similar talent at PBC today. Right now no one knows who Andrade is or when his next fight will take place. He has not had one key matchup and has sat on the shelf.
Jermall Charlo on the other moved up to 160 at the same time. They both hold titles. Charlo is making more money, is headlining a PPV and creating a legacy fighting top talent like Derevychenko. I know which one I would rather be? If his career ended today would anyone even mention Demetrius Andrade?
Second, Canelo said NO to fight Boo,Boo, not DAZN. DAZN put him on the list, Canelo took him off, not the other-way around.
That’s like an employer saying they want to hire you and they will match your highest pay day for 5 years. Then give you a choice of what your Corporate role is. How hard are you going to work for them?
You guys need to stop trying to defend these idiots. It makes you look like you are just as ****** as them.

If this doesn't come off...
What are the negatives (for Canelo) from the fallout?
If that or some other compromise isn't made, DAZN can wave goodbye to "the face of boxing"
That's going to have other impacts on the sport I will discuss later but the short version is that it's a deathblow to DAZN's boxing and perhaps DAZN period.
GoldenBoy is also screwed because they are the ones that personally guaranteed Canelo's money. Don't be shocked if GBP ALSO sues DAZN and, if that happens, good luck to DAZN as far as ever signing any other promotional company or fighter.
The only negative I see for Canelo (aside from some fans blaming him for cherrypicking so much he lost the contract) is he may be on the shelf while all this plays out in court.
But, if the court rules he can fight while the case is being adjudicated, then he'll likely do a ppv this year.
Canelo's fanbase won't turn on him for this. Hell, with the reputation boxing has for screwing fighters, he may come out of this with MORE fans.

Give me a name, any two names that could pay the bills, be competitive that Canelo has a better than average chance of beating.
Keep in mind, they will need to draw enough to cover at least 8 million guaranteed for Canelo and 3 million for the opponent. Or about 800,000 PPV buys because that's what it will take to pay for that fight.
For the record, using Floyd's financial success as if it can ever be duplicated would require a time machine, Canelo is past that. Much of Floyd's success was timing against well promoted fighters that could draw because they had promoters. The one lapse in the self promotion scheme is the lack of actual promotion. Fighters draw attention from social media but none has translated into significant PPV numbers.
Again, all of very little equals nothing much.

Canelo has never done an interview in English and only said two words in English the whole time - I'm ready... lolol)
He has drawn 30,000+ in Houston, 40,000+ in San Antonio, 50,000+ in Dallas.
He sold out Madison Square Garden.
Face it. Being a non-English speaker has meant nothing, Canelo is a star regardless.

And now (also given COVID restricting other sources of revenue like gate receipts) they are finding
it hard to make fights that are profitable.
Finding opponents for good fights is one problem.
Making the events profitable is another problem.
Canelo does not care about fight profitability, he makes money regardless.

If it doesn't have a pandemic clause allowing for short money under the circumstances, then DAZN and GBP are screwed.
DAZN might have a leg to stand on if NO FIGHTS were happening. But, they just shelled pretty decent money to Whyte and Povetkin, arguably amounts similar to what they'd get guaranteed if there was a gate.
If they can get paid what they normally make, why can't Canelo?
This is basically "fuque you, pay me" and Canelo has a really good case.
