But some of yall think hes some GOD who draws everyone's attention.

When people try to be objective about Canelo his fan girls love to come out and call everyone haters because they don't gag on hisballs as much as they do.
Well, I get that some of this adulation borders on idolatry. After all the origin of the word "fan" is fanatic, and there is a lot of that going around in all of sports. The difference is that in team sports the focus is on the team or the city where the team is located. In boxing the fanatical focus is on the boxer, and more recently this loyalty sometimes extends to the promoter.

to get the US market, they paid 90 million to a non-English speaking athlete

      lol
Manny Pacquiao was a non-English speaker too.

This is a non-factor in becoming a huge star in the US market.

Canelo wants out of DAZN, but not without the bag.

And he is going to go full Mayweather, making GBP and Oscar his part-time employees for staging fights only, instead of promoters able to speak for him.

        It's ON!!!

Given you are right and this is a tactic by Canelo.

        If this doesn't come off...
What are the negatives (for Canelo) from the fallout?

        • Canelo complaining about not fighting.

Ironically a messy court case may prevent him from fighting even longer.

          • DAZN screwed up by signing the biggest diva in the sport who is too much of a bitch to even fight 90 year old GGG.

Spot on bro! Your memory is impeccable. They should have learned from the final dagger in HBO Boxing’s carcass that Jr. wasn’t up for the job.

But these DAZN idiots gave him more money and increased autonomy. How many great fights has Hearn passed by trying to fool us into believing lesser fights were just as valuable.

This market is not the UK. People will just show up to see their hero beat on a art teacher. Americans need to see fighters take on the best. But the way they paid Canelo, he became too important to be matched hard.

Except for Canelo and GGG, they got iron clad contracts and record pay days to fight lesser competition. It was the perfect move for them.

Pac did a million interviews mainstream appearances in English before he got extra punchy. And people still made a huge deal that he was not a traditional US superstar.

Canelo has never done an interview in English and only said two words in English the whole time - I'm ready... lolol

                    • The chances for a third fight with GGG get slimmer and slimmer. And it seems like Golden Boy did too much behind Canelo's back without consulting with him.
