There is only a regular when there is a super champion. Otherwise there is only the sole WBA champion. The super spot isn’t ‘vacant’, at least not yet

If you don’t count sole WBA champions, you’re erasing a huge amount of champions...
Thurman/Porter was a non-title fight, David Haye was never Heavyweight champion etc

I don’t know man. Many forum members hate the WBA. For example, Keith and GGG had similar situations. Elevated or fighting for the Super. Like I said, GGG vs Geale was for the Super WBA. Keith was still the Regular from 2015-2017. Floyd was the last one with the Super. Keith got elevated before the DSG fight. Same year Floyd fought McGregor. I don’t know it’s weird. But fans don’t like “two Champions” liek the Smith or Fielding scenario where Canelo fought for the Fielding’s belt. I’ve said on the forum many times that I didn’t see the Fielding win as a legitimate Champ because Smith was there. I guess it’s the reason why Canelo has been wanting this fight but Lurch been holding out

Bit of a difference between 5 and 12, wouldn’t you say? NSB
you mean he was given a title without throwing a punch.

but i think you mean he was given a title before throwing at punch at retiring Geale.

Was Broner/Maidana a title fight? Was Maidana/Floyd a unification fight, or just for the WBC title? Was Haye WBA heavyweight champion? What about Khan vs Kotelnik/Salita/Malignaggi/Maidana/McCloskey?

If yes, Golovkin was WBA champion from 02/11/12

I think you have more of an issue with champions winning titles outside of the ring/vacant titles, than with the WBA system, according to your post. But that's an issue everywhere

Sure, but that's a different issue altogether
I don't think fighters should be elevated like that either but they currently are. Every single organisation other than the IBF abuses the interim system to achieve that

its 9 defences, including a single win only over a number 1 challenger.
but GGG can as yet overtake Sturm.

i mean, defence means defence. on that we can agree the first is retiring geale.

Well no, his first major title defence was against Rosado. That's taking opinion out of it

If we're taking quality of opposition into account, I'd start with Jacobs personally. Why start with Geale?

It's because of this garbage belt that Lucas Browne can claim to be a former world heavyweight champion. Unforgivable.
